           Safety Harbor is home to about 18,000 residents and the city is 6 square miles in size.  The city is located on the west shore of Tampa bay in Pinellas County and is to the south of the City of Oldsmar and to the east of the City of Dunedin.  The water of Safety Harbor leads out to Tampa bay and the easy boat access makes it perfect for fishing and sailing.  Considering the typical vastly urbanized setting of Pinellas County, Safety Harbor stands out because of its tree lined streets and quaint, small town feel.

            The first inhabitants of the area that is now Safety Harbor were the Tocobaga Indians and their presence can still be seen today.  Safety Harbor's Phillippe Park is the home to a ceremonial and communal mound built by the Tocobaga people.

Safety Harbor is also home of the Espiritu Santo Springs or Springs of the Holy Spirit so named by the Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto in 1539.  This natural mineral spring was discovered by Hernando when he was searching for the mythical Fountain of Youth.  Today the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa sits atop of this spring, and patrons flock to it to draw on its famed healing powers.

            There are many well established gated communities in Safety Harbor like the Signature Estates as well as many homes available with beautiful waterfront views of the Harbor.  Homes range from the 300,000s to multi-million dollar estates.
