South Tampa
Consisting of Manatee and Sarasota Counties, South Tampa runs partially along the Gulf coast with water front homes and beach estates. Prices for homes range from the 150s for 2 bedrooms up to the 900s for high end 4 bedroom homes. South Tampa is home to many professional athletes and celebrities from tennis star Mary Pierce to writer Stephen King, actor Tom Cruise, and TV host, Jerry Springer.
The public education system of the area is growing and currently is comprised of 38 elementary schools, 15 middle schools, and 11 high schools. According to Sperlings Best Places the Bradenton-Sarasota area was ranked #33 of the 100 least stressful areas in which to live and work in 2004.
In addition, the South Tampa area is home to many annual events including the Sarasota Blues Festival, Taste of Sarasota, the Florida Heritage Festival, and much more. Some excellent developments in the area include Grey Hawk Landing, Riviera Dunes, Rosedale, and Lakewood Ranch.
